How can we help you?
If you want to enjoy better oral health and experience fewer problems like toothaches, you need to be actively involved. We don’t expect you to become an expert (that’s why we’re here), but we have found that proactive patients tend to enjoy better oral health.
That’s why we always encourage and welcome your questions. There are no small questions, and the only silly question is the one you don’t ask! Our dental team has devoted themselves to helping friends and neighbors in our community enjoy better oral health. They are friendly and knowledgeable and will be happy to explain anything to you that you don’t understand.
We’ve shared some common questions we hear at Dental Wellness of Pen Argyl. If you need an answer that you don’t see here, don’t hesitate to call us at (610) 863-8988 so we can help.
The answer to that question varies from person to person. We offer a multitude of replacement options ranging from dental implants to complete dentures. Our dentists look at each case comprehensively, and together as a team, we work with you to build a treatment plan that will provide you with the best care possible.
Here are the options we offer at our Pen Argyl dental office to replace missing teeth:
- Dental bridges – Replace one or more teeth in the same area of your mouth
- Full and partial dentures – Full dentures replace all missing teeth in your upper jaw, lower jaw, or both. Partial dentures are customized to fit around remaining teeth to complete your smile.
- Dental implants – The healthiest tooth replacement by far is a dental implant. That’s because they consist of an artificial tooth root that is anchored in your jaw. Once your implant heals, our dentists can restore function and appearance by attaching a crown, bridge, or denture.
We know that you have many choices, but rest assured that we’ll help you make the one that’s right for your needs. Our dentists will educate you about the benefits of each and make recommendations, but the final decision is yours to make.
If you’re tired of living with missing teeth and gaps in your smile, please call our Pen Argyl dental office so we can discuss your options for tooth replacement.

If you get a cavity, our dentists would remove the decay and place a simple dental filling. But sometimes the damage to a tooth is too severe to be fixed with a filling. In this case, our dentists would probably recommend a dental crown at our Pen Argyl dental office.
A dental crown is an extensive restoration that protects all of a tooth’s structure. When made from natural-looking materials, a crown can produce the appearance of a healthy, perfectly proportionate tooth structure.
]If you have multiple worn down or broken teeth, we can use a series of dental crowns to rebuild your smile. Dental crowns made from porcelain are beautiful and closely resemble natural tooth structure.
Dental porcelain is available in various shades of white, and it reflects light the way that teeth do. Since we customize your dental crown just for you, we make it in the exact dimensions needed to protect the tooth and match the rest of your smile.
Porcelain dental crowns are very durable and can last 10-15 years or longer. To get the most use out of your crown, you must brush and floss your teeth and keep up with dental exams and teeth cleanings at our Pen Argyl dental office.
If you have a decayed or broken tooth, a dental crown could help you. Please call us to schedule a dental appointment.
When you brush twice a day, floss once, and avoid sugary snacks, you can avoid a lot of dental problems. But problem-free oral health is a team effort, and you must follow up your efforts with professional dental exams and teeth cleanings at our Pen Argyl dental office.
A lot can happen with your teeth and gums before you know a problem even exists. Cavities are not usually painful in their earliest stages. So catching and treating them right away is crucial, but we can do that when you come into our office for routine appointments every six months.
Seeing you every six months helps us stay current with your oral health and treat problems long before they become painful or costly to treat. If we find a small cavity during a routine dental exam, our dentists can treat it with a simple filling. It’s much easier and more affordable to fill a small cavity than wait till it spreads and we need to perform a root canal to save the tooth.
At Dental Wellness of Pen Argyl, we’ve created an environment where you can feel good about receiving routine dental care. Please call us to arrange your next dental exam and teeth cleaning.
Bleeding, red, or puffy gums are your body’s way of telling you something is wrong. Plaque is a sticky film that collects on your teeth and contains saliva, food debris, and bacteria.
You remove plaque and when your brush and floss your teeth, which is why regular oral hygiene is so important. Plaque that’s allowed to sit on your teeth turns into a hard substance called tartar.
You can’t remove tartar with your toothbrush, but your dental hygienist can using specialized instruments. If we don’t remove tartar, it causes an infection that we call periodontal or gum disease.
There are different stages of gum disease, and gingivitis is the first. Your gums are infected, and that’s why you see tender, swollen, or bleeding gums. Gingivitis is easy to treat and usually only requires professional teeth cleaning and improved oral hygiene habits.
If we don’t treat it in its early stage, you can develop advanced gum disease that’s called periodontitis. At this stage, pockets open up between your teeth and gums, so you may notice that your teeth feel loose.
Treatment for periodontitis involves a procedure called a deep cleaning to get rid of the infection. It also helps your roots reattach to your teeth once the infection is gone.
The best way to avoid bleeding gums is to schedule dental exams and teeth cleanings every six months. We can stay a step ahead of gum disease and make sure your smile is healthy. Call our Pen Argyl dental office to get started.
Invisalign Clear Braces
No! There’s never been a better time to consider Invisalign than right now, regardless of your age!
It’s common to think of orthodontic treatment as something that’s only for children and young adults. But with adult-friendly options like Invisalign clear aligners make it more comfortable and convenient than ever before to straighten teeth.
Your teeth can be moved throughout your life, which means age is not a factor. It may take a little longer to straighten your teeth than it would a teen, but you’re never too old for a straighter, healthier smile.
Unlike metal braces, the clear aligners are removable for meals and brushing and flossing. But the biggest advantage for adults is that Invisalign is virtually invisible when worn. You can comfortably straighten your teeth without announcing it to the world.
Instead of brackets and wires, you will receive several sets of customized aligners. You should wear each for about two weeks then graduate to the next set in the series. Continue this way until you use all your aligners and treatment is complete.
If you want to straighten crooked teeth, Invisalign at our Pen Argyl dental office is an option you should consider. Please call us to arrange an appointment so we can get you on your way to a straighter smile.
