Full & Partial Dentures

If you have one or more missing teeth, you may not even remember the last time you smiled confidently from your heart. You’ve probably stopped eating some of the healthy foods you love like crunchy vegetables because it hurts too much to chew.

At Dental Wellness of Pen Argyl, we offer several options if you want to replace missing teeth, including dental bridges, dental implants, and full and partial dentures. Patients who are looking for a fast, economical option to replace missing teeth often choose dentures.

Not Your Grandparents’ Dentures!

Most people today still think that dentures look fake and obvious, but this isn’t the case. Your grandparents' dentures were made using the materials available at the time. But things have changed, and modern dentistry allows us to customize dentures just for your smile.

As we plan your dentures, we’ll talk to you about the shape, size, and positioning of each tooth in the acrylic base. We make full and partial dentures at our Pen Argyl, PA dental office that look beautifully natural and never fake or obvious. Getting dentures is a big decision, and our goal is to make sure that you love your smile every time you look in the mirror.

How We Use Full and Partial Dentures

We use full dentures and partial dentures in two different situations.

Full Dentures

If you have lost all your teeth from either your upper or lower jaw, our dentists would recommend full dentures. Your full dentures consist of a gum-colored acrylic or metal base and artificial teeth that are customized to enhance your appearance.

Full dentures are held in place with natural suction or adhesives. If you want to be sure your dentures will stay in place, we’ll be happy to talk to you about adding dental implants.

Partial Dentures

Another solution is partial dentures that we use when you still have teeth remaining in your upper or lower jaw. Partial dentures replace one or more missing teeth and are attached to an and metal framework that is held in place with clasps attached to existing teeth for support.

Partials are easy to keep clean because they go easily in and out of your mouth. You can clean your natural teeth as you usually do, then reinsert the partial for a complete smile.

Implant-Supported Dentures

The major drawback of dentures is that they can move out of place because they’re not anchored to your jaw. This is especially true with lower dentures. We can solve this problem by creating implant-supported full or partial dentures at our Pen Argyl dental office.

If you’re getting full dentures, our dentists place four dental implants along your upper or lower jaw. Your dentures are designed with attachments that snap onto the dental implants and only your dentist can remove them.

With dental implants, you can laugh, chew, and smile confidently because you know your dentures aren’t going anywhere.
